Nurse Licensure Compact

Date:March 24, 2015 9:43 am

The Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) is an agreement between member jurisdictions that allows for multistate licensure. The NLC commenced in 2000 and 24 jurisdictions are presently members. To join, a jurisdiction must enact model legislation authorizing entry into the NLC. The NLC allows a nurse to have one license in the primary state/jurisdiction of residence and to practice physically or electronically (telephonically) in other member states/jurisdictions.
